Following the resounding success of its brief weeklong pop-up store, activewear brand Beyond Yoga is doubling down on the Big Apple. The company has officially launched a much more ambitious retail installation in New York City that will remain open through January, offering exclusive merchandise, rotating product lineups, and immersive consumer activations designed to capture the lucrative fall and holiday shopping seasons.
The strategic move highlights a broader evolution for the brand, which was acquired by denim giant Levi Strauss & Co. in 2021. As athletic apparel brands increasingly blur the lines between gym wear and everyday fashion, Beyond Yoga is using experiential physical retail to deepen ties with its most devoted digital consumers.
Building on Digital Success in a Key Market
Beyond Yoga executives noted that the decision to establish a long-term pop-up in New York was driven by the city’s status as a powerhouse for the brand. For years, the metropolitan area has consistently ranked among the company’s largest e-commerce markets, supported by a highly engaged and vocal consumer community.
"New York has long been one of our largest e-commerce markets and home to one of our most engaged communities, so establishing a physical presence here was an important next step for Beyond Yoga," said CEO Nancy Green in a statement. "We’re excited to build on the relationship we’ve established with this community online and create a more personal, localized expression of Beyond Yoga in one of our most important markets."

Rather than serving as a standard retail storefront, the new New York location is designed as a dynamic, experiential environment. The timing of the opening allows the brand to capitalize on heavy foot traffic during the crucial autumn and holiday shopping periods. To maintain consumer interest over the multi-month run, the shop is slated to evolve continuously, featuring a rotating selection of products, hard-to-find exclusive merchandise, and specialized in-store experiences.
The brand’s physical activation strategy will also extend beyond the four walls of the shop. On October 17th, Beyond Yoga is scheduled to host the first-ever East Coast edition of its signature "Seek Beyond: Open Air" event. The high-profile gathering will feature a community run followed by a live musical performance from renowned artist Natasha Bedingfield, marrying fitness, wellness, and entertainment in a single localized happening.
Navigating a Changing Athleisure Landscape
Beyond Yoga’s extended New York City pop-up arrives during a period of significant transformation within the broader athleisure and activewear category. Across the industry, leading fitness apparel brands are pushing far beyond their traditional athletic roots into casual lifestyle wear, commanding premium pricing strategies, and branching out into entirely new product categories such as leather goods, footwear, and denim.
This evolution has redefined what consumers expect from workout apparel brands, turning once-niche athletic labels into comprehensive lifestyle powerhouses. Beyond Yoga has actively participated in this industry-wide shift since becoming part of Levi Strauss & Co.
The brand has steadily expanded its cultural and lifestyle footprint. In 2025, the company launched a major digital lifestyle platform in partnership with acclaimed actor and creator Issa Rae, dubbed "Seek Beyond." This platform has helped cement the brand’s identity as a holistic lifestyle choice rather than just a workout gear provider.

The strategy appears to be paying off on the financial front. For the past two consecutive quarters, Beyond Yoga has posted robust, double-digit growth, serving as a bright spot within its parent company’s broader portfolio and demonstrating strong wholesale and direct-to-consumer strength.
Expanding the Physical Footprint
While e-commerce remains a cornerstone of Beyond Yoga’s business model, the brand is steadily building out its brick-and-mortar retail footprint to complement its digital reach. The New York City installation is part of a broader, deliberate physical expansion strategy.
The company recently opened new brick-and-mortar stores in Manhattan Beach, California, and Scottsdale, Arizona, bringing its total permanent and temporary retail store count to 18 locations nationwide. Looking ahead, Beyond Yoga has confirmed plans to open additional retail outposts in Denver, Colorado, and San Clemente, California, later this year.
By blending targeted physical retail spaces like the New York pop-up with large-scale community events and digital lifestyle initiatives, Beyond Yoga continues to bridge the gap between online convenience and tangible, community-driven brand experiences.
