The Peninsula London Transforms Signature Green Car Fleet into Moving Art Installation Ahead of Frieze London

The Peninsula London is turning its signature green car fleet into a moving art installation for the month of October, unveiling a six-vehicle collaboration with Brooklyn-based artist Eden Kozokaro, who is known professionally as Kozo. The striking project comes together just ahead of Frieze London, one of the art world’s most anticipated annual gatherings, bridging the worlds of luxury hospitality, automotive heritage, and contemporary fine art in a distinctly innovative way.

Known internationally for his mastery of micro-realism across fine art and tattooing, Kozokaro was commissioned to create original designs that imagine traditional British pastoral scenes concealed beneath a torn-paper surface. Through this clever visual illusion, illustrated Peninsula pages appear to physically peel back the glossy exteriors of the luxury vehicles, revealing hidden landscapes of sweeping parkland, wildlife, winding rivers, wooded hills, and grand stately homes beneath.

The six distinct vehicles receiving this artful facelift encompass a diverse lineup from the hotel’s prestigious fleet, including two Rolls-Royce Phantom IIs, a Bentley Bentayga, an electrified Austin Taxi, a BMW i7, and a LEVC. To bring the intricate vision to life, the hotel’s expert detailing team at Topaz carefully adapted Kozokaro’s complex artwork to fit the unique dimensions and proportions of each individual model, translating the concept into a seamless and bespoke vinyl wrap.

Reflecting on the conceptual foundation of the project, Kozokaro noted how the initiative bridges temporal divides. “The collection brings past and present into conversation, creating unexpected juxtapositions that allow history and myth to feel alive again,” said Kozokaro, adding that viewers are invited to become active participants in the narrative by “journeying within the Art Fleet.”

The creation of the mobile exhibition was a meticulous process that spanned three months. Kozokaro began the endeavor by developing digital sketches that were carefully layered onto high-resolution photographs of each specific vehicle. The compositions were thoughtfully designed to interact with the cars’ iconic Peninsula Green livery, as well as their structural curves, doors, hoods, and even subtle functional components like side reflectors, ensuring the artwork felt completely integrated with the automotive architecture.

The project was facilitated by Cart Department, an agency specializing in creative collaborations. Larry Warsh, the founder, publisher, and well-known art connector behind Cart Department, explained that The Peninsula London proved to be an entirely natural partner for the venture due to its deeply rooted automotive heritage and its renowned collection of bespoke luxury vehicles.

The Peninsula brand’s illustrious relationship with automobiles has a storied history that dates back decades to Hong Kong, where the legendary flagship hotel famously commissioned what was at the time the world’s largest single order of Rolls-Royce Phantoms, establishing a standard for luxury transit that continues to define the hospitality group’s global identity today.
