Swiss luxury watchmaker H. Moser & Cie. is following up on its surprising foray into connected timepieces with a brand-new duo of analog-digital watches known as the Off-Grid collection. The release comes a year after the brand first introduced an ana-digi timepiece tied to its ongoing partnership with the Alpine Motorsports Formula 1 team.
Last year’s collaboration yielded a pair of Streamliners, most notably featuring the brand’s first-ever analog-digital effort in the form of the Streamliner Mechanics Edition. Developed in collaboration with Sequent—a Swiss watch brand recognized for pioneering self-charging smartwatches—that initial release was designed specifically as a connected watch for the Alpine mechanics team. For the general public, H. Moser & Cie. produced a limited run of 500 pieces, marking a distinct and playful departure from the manufacture’s traditional mechanical repertoire.
That experimental edition proved successful enough for the independent watchmaker to double down on the concept, resulting in two brand-new references under the Off-Grid banner. The irony of releasing a connected watch that requires recharging—especially from a brand whose mechanical masterworks are, by definition, entirely self-contained and "off-grid"—is not lost on observers. Water resistance is rated to 12 ATM, equivalent to approximately 120 meters. Battery life and power reserve specs vary significantly based on individual usage patterns. The manufacturer quotes up to 12 months of battery life when operating strictly in time display-only mode. With combined usage—including standard time display, 30 days of alarm utilization, and one hour of chronograph use with active digital screen illumination—the battery life drops to approximately six months. Recharging is accomplished via an included proprietary cable.

Priced at $4,900 each, the H. Moser & Cie. Off-Grid models are produced as limited editions of 1,000 pieces per colorway. The purchasing window opens first to existing Moser clients through September 23rd, followed by a public ordering window running from September 24th through October 5th, or until allocations are exhausted.
