When it came to planning their multi-day wedding celebration, the couple shared a simple yet paramount philosophy: no guest would ever feel anything less than completely cared for and well-fed. Coming from an Italian background with a family deeply passionate about good food, fine wine, and gathering around a table, every aspect of the guest experience was meticulously designed around hospitality.
The festivities kicked off with a vibrant Welcome Party hosted at a private family estate. To bring the culinary vision to life, the family partnered with Lauren Allen, a beloved friend and longtime client. She and her team crafted a crowd-pleasing, beautiful menu infused with a distinct Southwestern twist. Attendees sampled passed bites including wagyu brisket tostadas, elote corn fritters, and duck confit empanadas, while interactive stations set up across the property served up fresh, homemade quesadillas and tacos.
Adding a personal touch to the evening’s beverage selections, the couple introduced the "Brian Allen Special" on the bar menu. Amidst a sea of traditional options like Coronas and Prickly Pear Margaritas, guests who ordered the specialty drink were handed a Labatt Blue Light, a playful nod to the groom’s favorite Canadian beer that delighted the husband-to-be.
When the official wedding day arrived, the culinary experience shifted to the Four Seasons team, with whom the couple completed multiple rounds of tastings. Praised for their attentiveness, thoughtfulness, and accommodating nature, the resort’s staff executed a seamless dining experience starting with cocktail hour favorites such as tuna tartare cones, mini beef Wellingtons, and falafels.
Dinner featured a traditional three-course meal infused with intimate family traditions. Following the salad course, servers passed family-style burrata salads directly from guest to guest around the table—a deliberate nod to the way the bride’s family traditionally gathers and shares meals. For the main entrée, attendees chose between tenderloin, herb-crusted chicken, and glazed sea bass, alongside a vegan tofu gnocchi option.
True to the couple’s promise of boundless hospitality, the meal was far from over. A coconut cake was served before guests transitioned into the ballroom, where an expansive after-party spread awaited. Featuring a sophisticated charcuterie display alongside assorted desserts like cannolis and berry tarts, the late-night menu continued even further during the after-party at Proof with cheese knots, chicken tenders, fries, and yet more cannolis.
The beverage selections mirrored the thoughtfulness of the food menu, highlighting high-quality pours and beloved varietals including Sancerre, Flowers, and Caymus. Sancerre held particular sentimental value, serving as the forever drink of choice for the bride and her mother, making it a natural centerpiece for the weekend’s toasts. Throughout the celebrations, custom signature cocktails featured meaningful nods to the couple’s high school, hometown, and their cherished Saint Bernard, Moose.
Timeless Florals and Design
The aesthetic vision for the weekend centered on timeless elegance, natural beauty, and a seamless connection to the surrounding Arizona landscape. Spring-toned greens were thoughtfully balanced with creams and whites throughout the venue, creating a refined yet organic atmosphere.
Florals served as one of the bride’s highest priorities, resulting in an abundance of roses, hydrangeas, tulips, calla lilies, and Bells of Ireland. Designed to achieve a delicate balance of structure and effortlessness, the floral arrangements climbed a dramatic Desert Ironwood Tree, lined a 90-foot aisle, and transformed a travertine seating chart with cascading calla lilies. At the reception tables, more than 300 calla lilies were individually placed on each guest’s plate, resting atop embossed bifold menus and cabbage chargers.
Ashley Bunten Designs curated a cohesive stationery suite featuring custom details on embossed cardstock, while Heidi of IDEIH Design contributed modern, elegant, and creative minimal signage. Wedding planner Cydney Lundahl of Westgate Events played an instrumental role in unifying the overall vision, assisting with furniture selection and design elements that elevated the venue’s atmosphere.
A Meaningful Wedding Cake
The wedding cake embraced clean lines and simple beauty, anchored by a prominent calla lily bundle as its focal point. After evaluating several options during tastings, the couple immediately fell in love with the coconut cake featuring coconut cream created by the Four Seasons pastry team. Described as light, subtly sweet, and beautifully balanced, it provided a fittingly romantic final course for the evening.
Ceremony Music and Readings
Music held deep emotional resonance for the bride, who had dreamed since childhood of walking down the aisle to Claude Debussy’s "Clair de Lune." Having grown up playing the piano, the piece carried years of nostalgia, romance, and anticipation. To incorporate the guests into this deeply personal tradition, the sheet music of "Clair de Lune" was embossed on the back of each ceremony program, allowing everyone present to share in a melody that had defined the bride’s vision of romance for decades.
A Date Rooted in Legacy
Selecting the wedding date presented a unique logistical challenge. Because Brian was playing professional football at the time, the couple’s available window was strictly limited to the off-season, spanning from early February through the end of April.
Ultimately, March 28 was chosen to honor not only their own union, but also the enduring marriages of their parents, both of whom have served as lifelong role models. The groom’s parents, John and Leslie, were married in March, while the bride’s parents celebrate their anniversary in September. Choosing late March served as a heartfelt tribute to both couples and the foundational examples of partnership and long-lasting love they provided over more than three decades.
A Heartfelt Bouquet Dedication
One of the most emotional moments of the weekend occurred before the father-daughter dance, when the bride paused the reception to surprise her mother with a public bouquet dedication in front of 300 guests. Reflecting on her mother’s tireless support throughout the planning process—attending dress appointments, showroom searches, and tastings—the bride expressed deep gratitude for her guidance.
"You are all I am, and all I hope to become," the bride shared during the emotional tribute, leaving both mother and daughter in tears alongside many in the audience.
The weekend concluded late into the night, leaving guests surrounded by family history, exceptional cuisine, and memories designed to last a lifetime.
