For Gabby and Isaac, Aspen has always been more than just a destination; it has been the backdrop of their romance since the early days of their relationship. Having spent several formative weeks in the Colorado mountain town early on, the couple truly fell in love amidst its crisp air and soaring peaks. Over the years, Aspen became the central gathering place for milestones, quiet getaways, and cherished memories shared with family and friends.
When it came time to plan their wedding, a celebration in the Rocky Mountains felt not only natural but inevitable. The couple envisioned an event that combined sophisticated black-tie refinement with the rustic, authentic charm of the local landscape. On October 5, 2026, their vision materialized into a breathtaking mountain equestrian luxury wedding centered at Chaparral Ranch, beautifully captured through the lens of Amanda Berube Photography.
The multi-day wedding weekend began with an intimate welcome party at the historic Caribou Club. The venue held profound personal significance for Isaac, whose grandfather was one of the prestigious private club’s founding members. By kicking off their celebration in a space so deeply woven into generations of family history, the couple immediately established a tone of legacy, warmth, and connection.
The Vision and Design of Chaparral Ranch
To bring their aesthetic to life, Gabby and Isaac partnered with Gold Leaf Event Design & Production, who curated an organic design palette centered around layered greens, crisp cream, and white florals. Rather than employing bold or distracting colors, the design team chose elements that allowed the warm wood architecture of Chaparral Ranch and the sweeping mountain views to take center stage.
Chaparral Ranch is much more than a picturesque Colorado venue; it is a living piece of regional history. Originally part of the interconnected family-owned cattle ranches of lower Woody Creek dating back past the mid-20th century, the property has evolved into an exclusive private equestrian estate. Yet, it has carefully preserved the authentic character that has defined the land for generations. Inspired by this rich ranching heritage, the couple and their creative team designed a sophisticated black-tie celebration that embraced rather than overshadowed the ranch’s storied past.
Lale Florals filled the setting with abundant arrangements of white garden roses, hydrangeas, and delicate seasonal blooms. The focal point of the ceremony was a sculptural floral arbor that artfully framed the distant mountain peaks. Throughout the reception, soft candlelight, understated floral groupings, and thoughtfully layered textures created an atmosphere that felt warm, inviting, and effortlessly elegant. The environment was designed to encourage guests to slow down, relax, and fully immerse themselves in the natural beauty and celebratory spirit of the day.
A Romantic Aspen Proposal
The wedding capped off a romance that had deepened over years of visits to the mountain town. The engagement itself unfolded in March 2024 during what seemed like a casual weekend trip to Aspen with a few close friends.
On March 15, 2024, the group woke up to a gorgeous bluebird day. To soak up the sunshine, they headed outdoors for lunch and cocktails at Ajax. While Gabby enjoyed the afternoon completely unaware, Isaac carried the engagement ring safely tucked away in his jacket pocket, while his best friend and Gabby’s sister secretly decorated the couple’s house back in town for an impending celebration.
Following lunch, the group stopped at Paradise Bakery for one of Gabby’s favorite iced teas before taking a leisurely stroll down the historic cobblestone streets of East Cooper Avenue. When they reached Wagner Park, they paused in the open square. It was there that Isaac turned to face Gabby, got down on one knee, and produced a ring.
After the proposal, the newly engaged couple walked through town, taking photos and calling both sets of parents to share the exciting news. Upon returning to the house, they were surprised to find it fully decorated and filled with loved ones waiting to celebrate. The evening concluded with a celebratory dinner and a lively concert with dancing at Belly Up, cementing a weekend they would cherish forever.
High-Fashion Bridal and Wedding Party Style
For the wedding day, Gabby wore a couture-inspired gown that embodied modern romance. The fitted silhouette was adorned with intricate three-dimensional floral appliqués and delicate hand-beaded embellishments designed to shimmer under the Colorado light. The dress featured a high illusion neckline with a subtle sweetheart detail and sheer long sleeves, offering a sense of timeless sophistication. A softly sweeping train provided an effortless finish, complemented by the bride’s loose, cascading waves and understated accessories. The refined, fashion-forward look felt entirely at home against the backdrop of the historic equestrian estate.
Eschoewing traditional matching bridesmaid attire, the bridal party wore an artfully coordinated collection of gowns in earthy neutrals and luxurious textures. Flowing chiffon, sleek satin, soft suede, and shimmering sequins created a sophisticated interplay of movement and dimension. The palette—featuring shades of olive, chocolate, espresso, and pewter—harmonized seamlessly with the ranch’s natural surroundings, elevating the overarching mountain-luxury aesthetic.
A Culinary Journey and Historic Setting
The reception featured a thoughtfully curated dinner and cocktail hour designed by Catering by Design, which brought a fresh, elevated, and playful approach to late summer dining in Colorado. During the cocktail hour, guests enjoyed peach caprese, petite chile rellenos, ahi poke, bulgogi beef skewers, and adobo short rib tacos. The formal sit-down dinner followed with a first course of summer greens, succeeded by entrées of Stranahan’s whiskey-braised short rib and grilled halibut served with chimichurri.
Dessert introduced an interactive element to the evening, featuring a wandering chef who filled cannoli to order, alongside cheesecake-stuffed strawberries, s’mores lollipops, and the traditional wedding cake. The wedding cake itself was a three-tier design finished with soft horizontal buttercream texture and cascading blooms of buttery yellow, blush, and ivory. Displayed on a warm wood pedestal surrounded by lush florals, the dessert seamlessly integrated into the garden-inspired aesthetic. Later in the evening, late-night bites of waffle fries and chicken wings were served directly to the dance floor to keep guests energized.
An Unforgettable Celebration on the Dance Floor
The reception transitioned from an elegant dinner party into a high-energy celebration propelled by the Taylor Pace Orchestra. The band delivered a dynamic performance that kept the dance floor packed and generated an atmosphere of pure joy from the first song onward.
The evening reached its emotional and theatrical peak when the bride and groom climbed onto the stage to join the orchestra. In a playful moment that encapsulated the spirit of the entire weekend, both Gabby and Isaac took turns crowd-surfing through a cheering sea of family and friends. This unforgettable crescendo brought the black-tie mountain celebration to a triumphant close, blending deep-rooted personal history, timeless elegance, and high-altitude revelry in the heart of Aspen.
