Kendall Jenner Addresses Long-Standing Rumors About Her Sexuality and Opens Up About Her Relationship History

Kendall Jenner is setting the record straight. The 30-year-old supermodel is opening up about rumors claiming she is a lesbian that have trailed her through the spotlight for years, addressing the speculation head-on during an episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians.

During the broadcast, Jenner specifically addressed the long-standing Internet speculation that she and fellow model Cara Delevingne were something more than friends. Reflecting on their enduring bond, Jenner explained the origins of their close relationship and why public misunderstandings have persisted for more than a decade.

"We have been friends for a long time now—going on 11 or 12 years," Jenner shared during the episode. "She brought me under her wing—in a way—and made me feel really safe and welcome in the modeling world."

Jenner noted that the intense public scrutiny stems primarily from the genuine affection and closeness they share. "We should address this. It’s because of our love for each other. People think I’m a lesbian to this day," Jenner said of her friendship with 34-year-old Delevingne, before definitively declaring, "I’m not."

However, even as she denied being attracted to women, Jenner offered a playful and candid caveat, teasing that she "wouldn’t be opposed to having some fun with a girl" and adding a wink with the sentiment, "Never say never, right?"

The supermodel acknowledged that rumors of a past romance between her and Delevingne have circulated for years, but firmly dismissed them as entirely false. "There’s definitely a rumor that she and I dated or something in the past, which is not true," Jenner clarified. "Not that I would have anything wrong with dating Cara, but we’ve just always been best buds. I love Cara. She’s my sister, and that never happened."

Delving further into her thoughts on sexuality, Jenner mused that being a lesbian "would be fun and easier" than navigating straight relationships, humorously noting at one point that "men suck." She reiterated her stance by stating, "By the way, I have nothing against having sex with Cara. I just have never had a desire to have sex with women."

Jenner’s latest remarks on her sexuality arrive amidst her budding romance with Euphoria star Jacob Elordi. The 29-year-old actor recently made headlines when he was seen having an outburst at photographers during the couple’s high-profile trip to Paris in September.

Jenner and Elordi were first publicly linked in April when they were spotted kissing at an afterparty for her friend Justin Bieber’s Coachella performance. However, an exclusive insider report later revealed that the pair had quietly been dating as far back as early February, following a setup orchestrated by Jenner’s younger sister, Kylie Jenner.

Since making their relationship official, the couple has maintained a jet-setting lifestyle, traveling across the globe together with romantic excursions to Hawaii, Tokyo, London, Paris, and other international destinations. The lovebirds even went viral earlier this year during a trip to Tokyo when they were spotted holding hands in public.

In August, Jenner demonstrated her support for Elordi by traveling with him to London for the premiere of his Ridley Scott–directed post-apocalyptic thriller, The Dog Stars. Elordi joined his co-stars, including Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, and Guy Pearce, on the red carpet for the high-profile film event.

Prior to his romance with Jenner, Elordi’s high-profile dating history included relationships with Olivia Jade, daughter of Full House star Lori Loughlin, model Kaia Gerber, and his Kissing Booth co-star Joey King. Jenner, meanwhile, was famously linked to Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny for approximately a year before they broke up in late 2023, followed by a brief reunion in 2024 before splitting once again. Prior to that, Jenner developed a notable reputation for high-profile romances with a string of NBA stars, including Blake Griffin, Devin Booker, and Ben Simmons.

The discussion on The Kardashians echoes similar sentiments Jenner shared earlier this year during an appearance on the In Your Dreams podcast in January, where she first confronted the persistent rumors about her sexuality. Speaking with host and actor Owen Thiele, Jenner addressed the darker side of the internet speculation.

"There’s the whole side of the internet that thinks I’m a lesbian," Jenner told Thiele at the time. While she understood why people might speculate about the lives of public figures, she admitted she was deeply taken aback by the harsh tone internet users adopted when discussing the topic.

"You want to know what really bothers me? How mean people are about it," she said on the podcast. "It’s not with, like, a welcoming arm of like, ‘Hey, if you were, yes, come join.’ It’s not kind. It’s very mean. It’s very like, ‘What the f*** are you doing?’"

Jenner emphasized then, as she did on her family’s reality show, that she does not consider herself a lesbian and would have no hesitation being open about her identity if she were.

"I understand that coming out is not an easy thing for anybody, if not most people," she continued on the podcast. "And I’m not saying that’s an easy thing, but knowing, and I can speak for myself here, and knowing myself, I think at this point in my life I’d be out if I was. I’m not saying it’s an easy thing. I’m just saying that knowing me and knowing how I would want to live my life, I would be. I’d have no problem being that."

She added that she was particularly baffled by conspiracy theories claiming she was actively concealing her sexuality for commercial reasons. "I think that there’s this whole narrative that I’m hiding this thing… I’ve seen really f—ed up things that are like, ‘It’s bad for business,’ and I’m like, ‘What? How?’ I don’t understand it."

She concluded her thoughts on the podcast by reiterating, "All’s to say, as of today, I am not. I don’t think I will be, but I’m not closing doors to experiences in life."

Pivoting to her broader romantic history, Jenner admitted that her past relationships with A-listers did not always live up to the fantasy. Turning 29 marked a significant psychological milestone for the model, prompting a period of reflection on her dating history and a conscious decision to prioritize her own well-being.

"I’m actually in a, like, me-era right now. I know that might sound corny… but when I turned 29, I had a crash-out about turning 30," she shared. "When I turned 29, I remember saying to myself, I do feel like I’ve been in [relationships] and there’s nothing wrong with it. I’ve had great relationships, I’ve had not-so-great relationships, but I felt like through my 20s, I was in a lot. I was in a few long-term consistent relationships… near each other."

Despite experiencing a series of high-profile breakups under intense public scrutiny, Jenner maintains that she is "definitely a lover" and remains hopeful about finding a lifelong partner in the future.

"I have a ton of dreams for myself, obviously, like, there’s personal ones, which is, like, a beautiful family and things like that," she explained. "[I want to be] in a beautiful relationship with a lot of understanding and love and all those things."

However, reaching the age of 29 served as a catalyst for change, making her realize how little time she had spent truly single throughout her twenties. "I never really had my 20s to myself. When I turned 29, I made a minor commitment to myself," she explained. "I was, like, ‘I’m not going to reject anything [and] I’m going to stay open to anything that feels like it would suit me,’ but I really wanted to have a ‘me year’ where I chose myself."

Jenner clarified that her designated "me year" was not about completely cutting romantic prospects out of her life, but rather about shifting her focus inward. "Not to say that didn’t mean that people came into my life or didn’t come into my life, [but] it wasn’t really about that," she added. "It was just about being, like, ‘I want to have fun, I want to choose myself and I want to do what I want to do.’"

Reflecting on her past commitments, Jenner noted that she naturally tends to prioritize her romantic partners. "I really love to be present for my partner, and I really put them first most of the time," she said. "So, I think, when I turned 29, I was like, ‘I really want to put myself first right now.’ So, that’s where I’m at."

With the benefit of hindsight, Jenner admitted that the emotional tolls and pressures of navigating high-profile romances throughout her twenties left lingering effects. "I felt like I had a bit more trauma from relationships throughout my 20s than I thought I did," Jenner said. "A lot of it was coming out [and] I was also going through my Saturn return… It felt like it was never-ending."

Such openness remains a rare glimpse into the personal life of the famously private model, who has historically resisted turning her private affairs into public media fodder. "For me, a lot of things are very special and very sacred, like my friends and relationships," she previously told Vogue Australia. "I personally think that bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier."
