Tommy Fury was reportedly asked to leave a Halloween-themed event over the weekend after allegedly intimidating staff members during a boozy night out with friends near Chorley.
The 27-year-old boxer, who previously endured a public separation from his partner Molly-Mae Hague in 2024 due to struggles with alcohol addiction, is said to have staggered around the Scare City theme park last Saturday, October 10. According to reports, the father-of-two squared up to staff and smelled of sickness before event management ultimately intervened and asked him to leave the premises.
The incident unfolded just two days before Molly-Mae shared a tearful YouTube vlog documenting the overwhelming pressures of balancing life, work, and parenting two young children.
A source speaking to The Sun detailed the atmosphere surrounding Fury’s night out, stating that as the evening progressed, the athlete grew increasingly intoxicated. "Through the night he seemed to get more and more drunk and was rude to scare workers, a lot of whom were women, and was intimidating," the source claimed. "He was squaring up to people. He smelled like he’d been sick at one point. Eventually he was asked to leave by management." One video obtained by the publication reportedly showed Fury squaring up to a scare actor before kissing a clown’s mask.
The situation allegedly left several staff members deeply distressed. A female employee told The Sun that the brother of former world champion Tyson Fury actually lunged at her during the chaotic encounter. "I was shaking. I’ve got a famous boxer in my face and two security guards. That was not what I came to work for. I was terrified," she said, adding that performers had been briefed beforehand not to entertain him. Another worker expressed frustration at the disruption, noting that it was disappointing to see individuals ruin an experience intended for families.
In response to the allegations, a spokesman for Tommy Fury offered a different perspective on the interactions, telling The Sun that the boxer was repeatedly invited by staff members to participate in a lighthearted face-off. According to his representative, several employees later reached out to message him about how lovely it was to see him at the park.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Scare City emphasized that the safety and well-being of their performers remain the organization’s highest priority, confirming that an active investigation into the matter is underway. Representatives for Tommy Fury declined to comment when approached separately by The Daily Mail.
The timing of the incident brought renewed attention to the couple’s private lives, particularly as Molly-Mae shared her emotional vlog just days after the weekend outing. Addressing her followers, the influencer admitted that she had experienced a difficult start to the week while managing their household. "So much has happened, I’ve just had not the best Monday. Weekends are savage with one kid, but weekends are more savage with two kids," she told viewers. "I’ve just had a c*** morning. I’ve had a really big cry and let the emotions out. It’s ok to have big feelings, reset and we go again."
Fury’s well-documented battle with alcohol dependence had previously served as the primary catalyst for the couple’s high-profile split in August 2024. Having first found love on the reality television series Love Island in 2019, the couple shocked their fanbase when they announced the termination of their engagement due to his drinking habits.
Fortunately, the pair managed to rebuild their relationship, rekindling their romance in May 2025 and subsequently welcoming their second child, a son named Midas, in June. Prior to their reconciliation, however, Molly-Mae candidly documented the emotional highs and lows of their separation on a Prime Video series, offering viewers a transparent look at how they navigated co-parenting their three-year-old daughter, Bambi.
During one emotional segment of the documentary, Molly-Mae spoke openly with her mother, Debbie, explaining that she felt deeply traumatized and hurt by the circumstances surrounding his drinking. "He’s never had an alcohol problem, but alcohol caused problems for us. It got to a point where I wasn’t looking forward to anything because alcohol affected it so much," she revealed. Breaking down in tears, she added, "At my sister’s wedding I pleaded with Tommy, like I begged him to not drink and it’s just really sad. I don’t know why I’m crying now, it’s just so sad but it affected me and that’s why my relationship with alcohol is so damaged. I just know that isn’t who he wants to be, he doesn’t want this."
She continued to describe the lingering psychological impact of the period, noting that seeing him often brought back memories of that pain. "I feel traumatised by the last couple of months, when I see him, I see all that trauma. I am angry at him and I am very hurt. I think he hopes in the future we will be back together as a family. Obviously I never ever wanted Bambi to come from a broken home."
For his part, Tommy has previously attributed the onset of his downward spiral to the physical and mental toll of hand surgery, which left him feeling unable to fulfill his role as a partner. The boxer explained that his struggles began after he underwent reconstructive surgery in January 2024 to repair ligaments snapped during an injury in 2019. Deprived of the rigorous training schedule that had defined his daily routine, he turned to alcohol to cope with the sudden loss of his athletic identity.
Admitting that he frequently drank to the point of blacking out, Fury confessed that his intense gym regime was rapidly replaced by heavy drinking sessions involving pints of Guinness and shots. "The reason why me and Molly broke up was because I got addicted to alcohol and I couldn’t be the partner that I wanted to be anymore," he said. "It kills me to say it, [but] it’s true, I couldn’t. I loved a pint of beer, loved to drink, and it is what it is. People go through different things in life and we all have our crosses to bear. I’ve got mine to bear."
He noted that his mental health deteriorated significantly during his recovery, contrasting that dark period with the success of 2023, which had seen both his professional career and family life thrive. Explaining the psychological void left by his injury, he remarked that training and family were the only things he had ever truly lived for. "So what I did for fun is I started to drink quite a lot. I found that’s what made me feel better," he stated, adding that he had sought the endorphin rush usually provided by intense sparring sessions and physical conditioning.
Despite the heavy toll his addiction took on his personal life, Fury strongly denied rumors of infidelity during their time apart. "Cheating was never a thing," he insisted. "You can ask Molly this yourself. It was the drink, and the drink is not a good thing. You need to get a grip of it. If you’re in the same spot as me, where you just think that it’s going to cure all your problems, it doesn’t. You wake up even worse and you want to drink more to try and feel happy again. That’s the cycle of it."
