Held each spring at the Palexpo exhibition center in Geneva, Switzerland, the premier trade show has announced that its upcoming 2027 edition will welcome ten brand-new participants, bringing the total roster to an impressive 75 exhibiting Maisons.
This latest group of incoming brands will join Breitling’s House of Brands, which officially confirmed earlier this year that it would be taking part in the prominent exhibition. The inclusion of these diverse names highlights a strategic shift by event organizers to capture the evolving landscape of modern watchmaking, creating a tentpole exhibition that bridges the gap between historical monoliths and avant-garde independents.
According to organizers, the total intake of 13 brands attending the show for the very first time in 2027 underscores a broader, highly varied slate of industry participants. The floor plan at Palexpo will range from time-tested traditional powerhouses like Rolex, Cartier, and Patek Philippe, all the way to burgeoning, upstart independents such as Stollenwurm. Named after a mythical alpine creature and founded by a former Boston-based biotech executive, Stollenwurm represents the experimental fringe of Swiss high horology that is increasingly finding a home at major industry showcases.
Among the most closely watched newcomers heading to the 2027 edition is Berneron. Launched in 2022 and guided by visionary designer and former Breitling executive Sylvain Berneron, the independent marque has quickly garnered critical acclaim from collectors and industry experts alike. Known for its limited-production pieces defined by striking, unconventional shaped cases and intricate full-gold movements, Berneron has captured the attention of the secondary market, where its timepieces have experienced astronomical value appreciation.
The meteoric rise of the brand was recently underscored by a rare example of the Mirage in 34mm—specifically the white-gold Viridian variant featuring a captivating chrysoprase dial. Originally sold directly by the brand to a client for approximately CHF 51,000, the watch recently shocked the secondary market when it fetched an extraordinary $521,400 on the specialized auction site Loupe This.
Despite the staggering figures, Sylvain Berneron has remained grounded regarding the frenzy surrounding his creations. In a recent interview with industry publication Hodinkee, Berneron remarked that the massive secondary market prices paid for his watches are "unsustainable," adding that he and his colleagues were deeply unhappy to see a client choose to flip one of their rare timepieces so quickly after delivery.
Looking ahead, Berneron is building on the momentum of the Mirage with subsequent releases. Last year, the independent watchmaker unveiled its second major model line: the Quantième. Serving as a more classically styled annual calendar when compared to the distinctive contours of the Mirage, the Quantième features a proprietary-designed movement and commands a retail price of CHF 140,000. Industry insiders and collectors are now eagerly anticipating the 2027 edition of Watches and Wonders, where Berneron is widely expected to debut its latest creation, intriguingly dubbed the ‘Fiasco.’
Sharing the spotlight among the major new entrants is Porsche Design, a storied name with decades of rich history in the watch industry, which will make its very first appearance at Watches and Wonders next year. Operating as the horological offshoot of the iconic Porsche Design studio, the brand has been charting an ambitious new course for its timepieces. This strategic evolution was highlighted by the opening of a dedicated, state-of-the-art manufacture facility in Grenchen, Switzerland, a milestone development that was explored in depth by journalists earlier this year.

Organizers have also shared broader details regarding the physical layout and public-facing elements of the 2027 exhibition, which is officially scheduled to run from April 5 to April 11 at the Palexpo in Geneva. The upcoming fair will introduce a brand-new theme and interior decor package specifically designed to reflect the natural beauty of the lakes, rivers, and majestic mountains that surround the city, reinforcing Geneva’s identity as the historic heartland of Swiss watchmaking.
Beyond the exhibition halls of the Palexpo, the public-facing ‘In The City’ programming—which was successfully launched last year to engage local residents and visiting enthusiasts alike—is set to expand significantly. Organizers confirmed that the initiative will grow to encompass seven full evenings in 2027, offering a rich slate of live music, cultural events, and watch-related activities each evening throughout the Geneva city center.
With the addition of these new marques, the complete roster of brands set to exhibit at Watches and Wonders 2027 comprises Akhor, Alain Silberstein, Berneron, Breva Genève, Breitling, Damiani, Fortis, Gallet, Kerbedanz, Porsche Design, Singer Reimagined, Stollenwurm, and Universal Genève. As preparations ramp up for April, the expanded lineup promises to deliver one of the most diverse and dynamic gatherings the modern watch industry has ever witnessed.
