Anthea Turner stuns with non-surgical facelift results as bus drivers question her Freedom Pass

Anthea Turner has revealed the impressive results of her non-surgical facelift, admitting that the youthful transformation has even led to comical mix-ups with local bus drivers. The former GMTV presenter, who recently celebrated her 66th birthday, opened up about how she struggled with her confidence regarding her ageing appearance before deciding to take action at the beginning of the year.

Reflecting on the unexpected perks of her aesthetic treatments, Turner joked that some transport workers have stopped her from using her Freedom Pass, which provides free travel for those who have reached the state pension age. Since completing her rejuvenating procedures, she has encountered situations where staff question her eligibility on sight.

"Since having these aesthetic treatments there have been quite a few occasions when I try to use my Freedom Pass and the bus driver asks, ‘You’re not, are you?’ and I have to persuade them that I am indeed 66 years old!" she shared with enthusiasm.

The television personality decided to seek professional guidance after noticing typical signs of aging that many individuals experience as the decades pass. Like countless others, she found herself pulling at her skin in front of the bathroom mirror to visualize a firmer, more lifted contour around her jawline and neck.

"I think you get to an age where you suddenly stand in front of the mirror and start pulling your skin tighter around your face," she explained. Describing a gesture familiar to many of her peers, she grabbed the top of her neck and pushed it backward to make her jawline and neck appear sharper, adding, "I don’t have a girlfriend of mine in my age group who doesn’t do that, and you go, ‘Oh, that would look nice.’"

Driven by a desire to restore her confidence without undergoing invasive surgery, Turner visited her local aesthetic clinic, Bodyvie, located in Richmond, south-west London. Seeking expert advice on the myriad of advanced non-surgical options available on the market today, she consulted with clinicians to find a solution tailored to her specific skin type and age.

After conducting thorough research, she opted for a series of six monthly Focus Dual treatments, widely recognized as one of the most advanced facial rejuvenation systems available. The technology combines cutting-edge micro-needling and radio frequency methods to significantly boost the skin’s youthful appearance, specifically targeting the areas that had begun to trouble her, such as loose skin on her neck and lower jawline.

For Turner, finding a procedure that balanced effectiveness with safety and minimal disruption to her busy schedule was paramount. "I wanted something that was safe, effective and very little downtime," she said, noting that the clinic had achieved remarkable, natural-looking results for other clients. "They said they had got some amazing results for their clients with this system and that the results looked really natural, which was important to me because I really didn’t want to come out of this looking like I’d had work done on my face. It was a no-brainer really."

Rather than pursuing aggressive, dramatic alterations, Turner and her clinician decided on a cautious, progressive strategy. Maintaining the natural volume in her face was a key priority throughout the treatment plan. "We decided that the best thing to do was slow and low. I don’t want to lose the plumpness that I already have in my face, that I’ve held on to," she explained. "I wanted to primarily look after my skin. If you look after your skin, everything glows, everything looks great, and that’s the approach we went for, and I have got exactly what I wanted."

Each full-face and neck session takes approximately one hour to complete. To ensure a comfortable experience, a numbing cream is applied prior to the procedure. Discussing the sensation during the treatments, Turner noted that discomfort was minimal. "I don’t really think it hurts at all. You have numbing cream, so hardly feel anything. On a scale of one to ten, where does it come? Maybe a three, if that."

The minimal recovery time also accommodated her demanding professional and personal schedules. "I have very little time in my life to have downtime, and so one of the things that I was looking for was something that had minimal downtime, and Focus Dual absolutely does," she shared. Describing the immediate aftermath of a session, she added that any mild redness resolved quickly. "I would say that if I had a procedure at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, by the next day, maybe I would look a little bit pink, but nothing that I couldn’t hide with make-up and go out."

Turner completed a course of six monthly full-face and neck treatments, priced at £500 per session, viewing the financial commitment as a worthwhile investment in her self-esteem and appearance. She now plans to maintain her results with a Focus Dual maintenance session every three to four months.

The outcomes have far exceeded her initial expectations, particularly regarding her neck, an area known for having exceptionally thin and delicate skin. "The fact is that when you start using the Focus Dual not only do you get a much tighter jaw, you get a better quality of skin on your neck, and your neck has got very thin skin on it," she observed. She added that friends and acquaintances have noticed the positive change, frequently asking her about the procedure after complimenting her radiant complexion.

When presented with her before-and-after photographs for the first time during a recent review, Turner was visibly amazed by the transformation. "Gosh, this is the first time I’ve seen these pictures," she remarked. "This is me eight months ago, and me now. My goodness me, I can see a difference. I definitely can. You see, again, you know, it’s the quality of the skin. Look after your skin. Really, really important."

She also noted unexpected improvements to her facial structure, explaining that preserving facial volume while tightening the skin across her entire face positively impacted her apples and eyes. Reflecting on her aging journey, Turner encourages others to commit fully to a recommended course of treatments rather than expecting unrealistic, instant miracles from a single session.

Drawing a distinction between different life stages, she noted that significant changes often become more apparent as individuals approach the age of 50 and beyond, largely due to the natural depletion of collagen. Emphasizing the importance of perseverance through a treatment plan, she advised friends and followers to complete the full recommended course to see true, long-lasting benefits that continue to improve even after the sessions conclude.

Away from her aesthetic journey and media career, Turner has recently been making headlines regarding her personal life. In April, she revealed that she had postponed her wedding to fiancé Mark Armstrong for a fourth time as the couple embarks on major renovations at their home.

The television presenter and Armstrong became engaged in Rome, Italy, in September 2019 following a whirlwind two-month romance. Their wedding plans were previously delayed due to the tragic deaths of both of their mothers, followed by the global disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

Most recently, Turner suffered a minor injury described as a nightmare, prompting a further pushback of their nuptials while they focus on updating their living room. Speaking candidly about their relationship to Woman’s Own magazine, she explained that formalizing their wedding is simply taking a backseat to practical life projects.

"We need to sort it out, and we absolutely will, but we’ve got a lounge renovation that’s just about starting," she said. Expressing deep affection for her partner, she added, "We’re not together because we want to breed or because it’s the only way we can buy a house. We’re together because he is my go-to, he’s my best friend, he’s my everything. I can’t think of anybody I would prefer to be snuggling up to at night. I am truly blessed that we found each other."
