Louisiana hospitality has long been defined by its warmth, community, and the art of bringing people together around an exceptional meal. For a recent bride with deep roots in the wedding industry, this cultural philosophy served as the blueprint for a celebration that felt profoundly generous, comforting, and rich with authentic flavor. Combining professional expertise with deeply personal touches, the wedding transformed a familiar landscape into a breathtaking showcase of design, cuisine, and heartfelt tradition.
Food & Drink
The culinary journey began during cocktail hour, where guests were welcomed with a robust selection of Southern-inspired bites. The menu featured local favorites including savory boudin balls, classic meatballs, and bacon-wrapped chicken, setting a convivial tone for the evening. To complement the vibrant atmosphere, Mint to Mix crafted a specialized cocktail menu that mirrored the joyful spirit of the day. Among the selections, the Lavender Lemon Drop and the Hibiscus Margarita quickly emerged as crowd favorites, delighting attendees as they gathered to celebrate.
When it came time for dinner, the menu offered a seamless blend of Cajun staples and crowd-pleasing classics. Guests dined on authentic jambalaya, comforting fettuccine, and crispy chicken tenders. The kitchen was a collaborative success, run by an amazing combination of Cajun friends and The Sous Chefs catering team working hand in hand throughout the day.
As the celebration continued late into the night, organizers unveiled a surprise midnight snack known as the "Mason Station"—a feature kept secret even from the groom himself. Named after Mason, the station highlighted three of his absolute favorite things: fresh pizza, warm chocolate chip cookies, and classic Dr Pepper. To cap off the evening and provide a final burst of energy before hitting the dance floor one last time, attendees enjoyed Rona’s signature Boozy Beans. Every element of the menu was thoughtfully curated to feel relaxed, welcoming, and entirely reflective of the couple’s personal tastes.
Florals & Decor
Bringing the visual elements of the wedding to life required a talented vendor team capable of creating genuine magic. Because the bride herself works in the wedding industry, she brought a unique perspective and deep knowledge of the planning process, allowing her to assemble her absolute dream team. At the helm were wedding planner Katie McIntire and florist Darling Blooms, a pair whose creative synergy proved to have no limits.
Katie took the elaborate vision that had lived in the bride’s mind and transformed it into a reality even more stunning than anticipated. From the custom dance floor, carefully selected linens, and specialized rentals to complex layouts and countless design details—including custom Mardi Gras beads—every decision was executed with clear intention. Striking the ideal balance between vibrant color and timeless elegance, Katie managed both design and production with unmatched talent and decision-making prowess. Even with her own professional background in the industry, the bride placed complete trust in her planner, and walking into the curated space left everyone utterly speechless.
Darling Blooms provided the floral artistry that formed the literal and figurative heart of the overall design. Because the bride owns the venue, she had long envisioned transforming the ceremony space in a dramatic way. Guests entered the chapel to find a striking fountain overflowing with lush blooms, creating an unforgettable welcome. Three bright, garden-inspired arches lined the chapel aisle in a dreamiest possible fashion, leaving an impression that continues to inspire daily awe. Months later, the couple is still receiving endless compliments on the floral arrangements, which proved to be nothing short of perfect.
The cocktail hour required a minor weather pivot due to rain, but the adjustment offered a special opportunity to overlook the family farm from the venue. Guests mingled around the floral fountain, enjoying signature drinks alongside curated lounge spaces from Alchemy Events, custom green bars, and signage designed by Accents by Ovations.
Upon entering the reception, attendees navigated to their seats by passing through one of the immaculate floral arches. The room’s focal point was a magnificent stage featuring a striking floral truss framing the band, positioned directly above a custom dance floor designed for a full night of celebration. No corner of the space was left untouched; family tables featured bright hot pink tulips, tall arrangements, and lush compotes, all tied together by airy draping. The bar served as another major anchor in the room, boasting a pink wrap, custom chandeliers, a massive backline, and beautiful signage. Personal touches included imagery of the couple’s dog, Weston, alongside a final nod to Louisiana culture encouraging everyone to "Laissez le bon temps rouler"—let the good times roll.
Wedding Cake
The wedding cake served as another major design element that elevated the ambiance of the reception space. Crafted with the help of Michelle Mayer, the confection was a true showstopper that integrated seamlessly into the broader aesthetic. The four-tier creation featured intricate green vines, subtle colored blooms, and a traditional monogram that added a distinct touch of Southern fair.
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs
While music was not the bride’s primary area of expertise, both families understood that the ceremony and its underlying meaning formed the most important part of the day. The ceremony was officiated by Brandon Callis, a long-time family friend and Mason’s former college livestock judging coach—someone whose life, relationship, and faith the couple deeply admires. Callis delivered a service that was Christ-centered, purposefully designed to glorify the Lord and reflect upon His work in their lives.
Transitioning to the celebration, the reception opened with the couple’s first dance to "I’m Gonna Love You" by Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood. For the remainder of the evening, entertainment was provided by Parade Route, a live band hailing from South Louisiana. Described as amazingly fun, interactive, and talented, the band enthusiastically welcomed the bride and groom onto the stage for a performance or two.
Special Details
The celebration was rounded out by a series of deeply personal touches and handmade elements. Among them, the bride’s grandmother custom-monogrammed the napkins used for the family tables—linens that now hold a permanent place in the couple’s home.
In another impressive feat, the bride collaborated with Accents by Ovations, farm electrician Rickey, and Lightworks Events to personally construct the venue’s custom chandeliers during the week leading up to the wedding.
Maintaining an element of classic surprise, the bride chose not to show her bridesmaids her dress prior to the wedding day. The morning-of reveal proved to be a joyful experience, with her friends making accurate guesses just hours before the walk down the aisle.
