Bonpoint and MoMA Partner on Impressionist-Inspired Children’s Capsule Collection

French luxury children’s apparel brand Bonpoint is bridging the worlds of high fashion and fine art through an upcoming collaboration with the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The partnership yields a specialized capsule collection paying homage to one of the most celebrated and globally recognized masterpieces in modern art history: Claude Monet’s luminous “Water Lilies.”

Marking Bonpoint’s very first official collaboration with a cultural museum, the limited-edition line consists of 16 meticulously crafted pieces tailored for children ranging from infants aged six months up to youngsters of 14 years. The artistic crossover is scheduled to launch on October 5, rolling out exclusively on bonpoint.com alongside a curated selection of flagship Bonpoint boutiques worldwide. American shoppers will see the collection hit stores and online platforms a few days later, on October 9.

The comprehensive collection spans three distinct designs created specifically for babies, seven ready-to-wear garments designed for girls, and a selection of complementary accessories. Pricing for the items reflects the brand’s luxury positioning and artisanal craftsmanship, starting at 30 euros for a decorative hairclip and reaching up to 365 euros for the label’s signature smocked and hand-embroidered Duchess dress, which has been reimagined in the serene, impressionistic hues drawn directly from Monet’s canvas.

Executives from both cultural institutions view the partnership as a unique bridge connecting early childhood development with world-class artistic appreciation. Jesse Goldstine, chief retail officer at MoMA, emphasized the museum’s ongoing dedication to introducing audiences of all ages to profound cultural experiences in unexpected ways.

“MoMA is committed to creating meaningful and unexpected ways for audiences to connect with extraordinary works of art in our capsule,” says Jesse Goldstine, chief retail officer at MoMA. “Through this collaboration with Bonpoint, Claude Monet’s ‘Water Lilies’ becomes a new point of discovery for children and families, extending the experience of the painting beyond the museum and into everyday life.”

The broader collection extends beyond apparel to include whimsical keepsakes and lifestyle accessories. The capsule is rounded out by Bonpoint’s signature Cherry Doll—dressed in a precise miniature replica of the hand-embroidered Duchess dress—alongside a coordinated children’s suitcase bag designed in matching impressionistic color palettes.

Gala Sarmini Kressmann, chief marketing and digital officer at Bonpoint, underscored how the collaboration aligns with the brand’s nearly half-century legacy of elegance, cultural appreciation, and imaginative design.

“For nearly 50 years, Bonpoint has celebrated childhood through exceptional craftsmanship and a world shaped by beauty, culture and imagination. Collaborating with MoMA felt like a natural fit,” said Gala Sarmini Kressmann, chief marketing and digital officer at Bonpoint. “By bringing one of Claude Monet’s most iconic masterpieces to life in this capsule, we hope to inspire children to dream, explore and nurture their natural curiosity through art.”

The collaboration arrives during a period of significant commercial evolution and heightened visibility for Bonpoint. Last year, the historic children’s wear house was acquired by the prominent Chinese fashion conglomerate Youngor Group. Following the acquisition, the brand celebrated its landmark 50th anniversary by marking a triumphant return to the official runway during Paris Fashion Week for the first time since 2019.

In the months leading up to the MoMA partnership, Bonpoint has actively expanded its cultural footprint and market presence through a series of high-profile cross-industry collaborations. These ventures included a partnership with supermodel Gigi Hadid’s luxury cashmere brand Guest in Residence, a joint capsule with contemporary French-Japanese fashion label Maison Kitsuné, and an unexpected lifestyle collaboration with luxury carmaker Porsche aimed at younger audiences.

The launch of the Monet-inspired collection comes just ahead of Bonpoint’s next major seasonal presentation, with the brand scheduled to unveil its upcoming spring 2027 collection on October 3 during the busy schedule of Paris Fashion Week.
