When planning a wedding, achieving a seamless blend of personal touches, high-end design, and guest-focused hospitality requires a meticulous eye. For one couple, working alongside planner Tara and her talented team resulted in a breathtaking garden wedding where every single element—from the stationery suite to the late-night dance floor—was bound together by a deeply coordinated aesthetic. The celebration not only reflected the couple’s personal style and favorite things, but it also prioritized an effortless, engaging guest experience through clever logistics, interactive culinary presentations, and unforgettable entertainment.
Invitations & Special Details
The guest experience and the overarching design narrative began long before anyone arrived at the venue, starting with a work of art created by Lettered Olive. The cheerful and inviting design established the tone for the lively garden wedding, perfectly matching the bride’s personal vision. Upon opening the main suite, recipients were greeted by a classic gold letterpress invitation. Tucked securely into a pocket on the right side were individual enclosures for the weekend’s various festivities, including a delightfully thematic welcome party invitation uniquely shaped like an Aperol Spritz.
This level of detailed, cohesive branding extended straight into the wedding day itself, manifesting in ways that continually surprised the bride. Tara’s team ensured that the visual motifs of the invitation suite reappeared organically throughout the venue. For instance, the umbrellas stationed around the pool during the cocktail hour featured the exact same fabric used for the couple’s "Save the Dates."
Other charming, personalized details were woven quietly into the apparel and staff presentation. To introduce an extra touch of pink into the wedding’s color palette, Tara proposed adding a wide pink grosgrain ribbon to the white flower girl dresses. This custom addition featured the couple’s monogram delicately embroidered on the front, while their names were stitched directly onto the ribbons hanging down to the hem along the back, creating a look that was as unique as it was pretty.
The coordination even extended to the hospitality team. The serving staff was outfitted in custom floral aprons that matched the exact design of the Lettered Olive stationery. Meanwhile, the bar in the main tent was named after the couple’s dog, Henry, complete with bespoke signage and a custom logo.
Florals & Decor
The visual transformation of the venue showcased an extraordinary dedication to decorative harmony. Tara’s team managed a vast array of intricate design elements, many of which were kept under wraps until the day of the wedding, offering the bride delightful moments of surprise.
Among the standout decor features were custom-made draping, lamps, and decorative pillows crafted from fabric that directly matched the invitation suite. By echoing the patterns, textures, and colorways of the paper goods across the physical environment of the tent and pool area, the design team achieved a remarkably unified aesthetic. Every corner of the venue felt intentional, wrapping guests in a fully realized, immersive garden atmosphere where no detail was left unconsidered.
Food & Drink
Dining and beverage service at the reception departed from conventional sit-down routines to encourage movement, socialization, and culinary exploration. During the cocktail hour, guests were treated to an imaginative display: Tara’s team set up a moving choo-choo train that carried fresh sushi continuously around a track, delighting attendees with both the presentation and the flavors.
For the main reception, the catering provided by Cru was served across Southern-style food stations strategically positioned throughout the tent. This layout allowed guests to freely roam the space while sampling an array of high-end dishes, with highlights including Tomahawk Steaks and traditional Spanish Paella.
To ensure that the lively crowd never experienced bottlenecks or long waits for refreshments, Tara designed a massive tent-within-a-tent structure anchored by a huge, round central bar. Positioned in the middle of the space, the expansive bar functioned as both a striking visual centerpiece and a practical solution that allowed guests to secure a drink quickly and effortlessly at any point during the evening.
Wedding Cake
When it came time to select the wedding dessert, the couple bypassed traditional multi-tiered pastry in favor of their absolute favorite treat: cookie cake. Certain of this preference from the very beginning of the planning process, they turned dessert selection into a fun experiential phase, thoroughly sampling various cookie flavors to curate a customized menu for their guests. True to the wedding’s overarching design philosophy, the icing adorning the cookie cakes was expertly matched to the official wedding color palette.
Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs
The celebration culminated in a high-energy reception powered by a fabulous live band that kept the dance floor packed well into the night. While the entire evening was filled with memorable musical moments, the undisputed highlight occurred when the bride and groom took to the stage alongside the band.
As the musicians launched into a live rendition of the couple’s favorite song, "Empire State of Mind," synchronized confetti cannons erupted overhead during the chorus. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple danced as the room filled with falling confetti, marking the pinnacle of an already magical celebration.
