Cara Delevingne has once again proved her status as a true style chameleon, surprising onlookers and fans alike by unveiling a dramatic new look during a high-profile photoshoot in the heart of New York City.

The 34-year-old supermodel and actress completely ditched the rich chestnut locks she had been sporting in recent months, transforming herself into a striking blonde bombshell on yesterday’s set. Looking almost entirely unrecognisable, Ms Delevingne stepped out wearing a long platinum wig as she commanded attention by writhing around in the middle of a bustling Manhattan street.

The British-born star made a bold visual statement as she lay directly on a zebra crossing, draped in an eye-catching black and silver gown paired with edgy knee-high fishnet socks. The centerpiece of her striking ensemble was a custom Swarovski crystal mesh gown, featuring a silver embellished column silhouette intricately designed with a distinctive cut-out bodice that added a layer of dramatic modern fashion to the urban backdrop.

The high-energy shoot underscores how the multi-hyphenate star continues to dominate various creative industries. Over the past decade, the catwalk queen has taken a markedly more selective approach to her professional projects, stepping back from full-time, round-the-clock modelling to focus heavily on carving out a respected career in acting and, more recently, music.

Her enduring commercial pull and diverse business ventures remain exceptionally lucrative. Ms Delevingne boasts a staggering £34.9 million in Cara & Co, the private corporate entity into which she channels her extensive earnings from both modelling campaigns and acting roles, as revealed recently by the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden.

Her latest transformation comes during an exceptionally busy period across multiple entertainment platforms. Earlier this year, Ms Delevingne officially launched a dedicated music career, generating significant buzz by announcing her debut double singles, I Forgot and Out of My Head. Having conquered the fashion capitals of the world and established herself as a recognizable screen presence, the ambitious star firmly set her sights on the music industry, embarking on an ambitious 11-date tour spanning the UK, Europe, and North America.

While Ms Delevingne previously dipped her toe into musical waters through notable collaborations with acclaimed artists such as St Vincent and Fiona Apple, she is now boldly going it alone with her debut solo project, showcasing a raw and independent artistic vision.

Alongside her musical pursuits, her acting portfolio has continued to expand significantly over the past ten years. She has secured a string of prominent big-screen roles, including appearances in the blockbuster superhero ensemble Suicide Squad, as well as critically recognized television turns in the fantasy drama series Carnival Row and the hit comedy-mystery Only Murders in the Building.

Most recently, she shared the screen with Jordan Firstman and Diego Calva in the acclaimed A24 comedy-drama Club Kid. The feature film centers on the chaotic world of a New York underground party promoter and earned a prestigious premiere earlier this year in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.

Her transition into dramatic performance also extended to the live stage in 2024, when she made her highly anticipated theatrical debut in the West End revival production of Cabaret. Reflecting on the intense physical and emotional demands of live theatre at the time, she candidly described the experience as "one of the most intense and rewarding things I’ve ever done."

Despite her pivot toward acting and music, fashion remains a core pillar of her global brand. In the realm of high fashion and design partnerships, Ms Delevingne recently fronted the high-profile Rag & Bone Fall fashion campaign. Her long-standing relationship with major fashion retailers has also evolved; having previously served as the famous billboard face for Topshop, she later expanded that partnership into a creative-equity stake by launching an exclusive 16-piece capsule denim collection where she served as an official co-designer.

Alongside these creative design ventures, she remains a powerhouse commercial face for major global beauty houses. Most recently, she commanded the spotlight by headlining L’Oréal’s high-octane Spring/Summer Paris Fashion Week show, proving that her presence on the runway continues to draw immense industry attention.

Away from her professional career on stage, screen, and runway, Ms Delevingne has also made headlines for her active and fast-paced real estate ventures, having developed a distinct habit of acquiring multi-million-pound mansions in Los Angeles.

Earlier this year, the British star purchased her third residential property in California within an 18-month span, following the unfortunate destruction of her previous £5.5 million California home, which tragically burnt down. She had lived in that particular hillside mansion since 2019 before the devastating fire.

In 2024, she purchased actress Milla Jovovich’s sprawling Los Angeles home for £7.9 million, though records show she chose not to move into the property before putting it back on the market and selling it just a year later for a profitable £8.2 million.

Approximately six months prior to that transaction, she spent £8.1 million on actress Jennifer Lawrence’s former Los Angeles residence. According to reports from the US property firm North Hillcrest, she similarly opted not to occupy that estate, subsequently listing it back on the market for £8.5 million.

Her latest property acquisition is a luxurious £8.5 million, five-bedroom home situated in the picturesque Santa Monica mountains. Complete with a private swimming pool and expansive terraced gardens, the substantial estate was purchased from a private businesswoman who secured a tidy profit on the investment, having originally picked up the property for £5 million back in 2021.
