David Beckham is officially cashing in on a brand-new television partnership with Netflix, riding a massive wave of commercial and public success sparked by his hit 2023 self-titled documentary series. The sports icon and global entrepreneur is set to expand his on-screen footprint with the streaming giant following the extraordinary financial and cultural impact of his previous project, which fundamentally transformed the scale and reach of his business empire.

The major television development was confirmed by the star’s close brand partner, Jamie Salter, while speaking at the prominent Leaders Conference held at Stamford Bridge. Salter offered industry insiders and fans a rare glimpse into the mechanics of the multi-media powerhouse that Brand Beckham has become, highlighting how strategic long-form content has directly translated into unprecedented commercial growth for both David and his wife, fashion designer Victoria Beckham.

"Following the Beckham documentary on Netflix, he is making more episodes with the channel. David Beckham and Netflix are making another show, which is really cool," Salter told the audience during his conference appearance. "The last series has driven his business through the roof. Likewise, Victoria’s business is now going through the roof after her docuseries too. You will definitely see him make more content. Content drives the message to the consumer."

The original four-part Netflix series, simply titled Beckham, made its global debut in October 2023 and immediately captured the public imagination. It drew a massive audience of 3.8 million viewers in its first week alone, quickly becoming a dominant cultural talking point across social media and traditional news outlets alike. The series took viewers on an intimate journey through the highs and lows of his storied athletic career, addressing numerous personal and professional milestones, including his dramatic departure from Manchester United, his turbulent relationship with the English national team following his 1998 World Cup red card, and his high-profile move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

Building upon the unprecedented success of David’s venture, Victoria Beckham, 52, followed suit with her own three-part biographical documentary series, which was released globally on October 9, 2025. Produced by the exact same creative team behind David’s project, Victoria’s series offered a candid look into her evolution from a global pop superstar in the Spice Girls to a critically acclaimed and established fashion designer, while also shedding light on the couple’s private family life and enduring partnership.

The media strategy has undeniably paid massive dividends for the family’s commercial enterprises. Reports from The Sun revealed that David recently netted an astonishing £38.5 million payout from his collective sports, fashion, and media business ventures after a lucrative period bolstered by the global spotlight of the World Cup helped drive record pre-tax profits. DRJB Holdings, the corporate umbrella that includes the core elements of the Beckham brand, reported an enormous pre-tax profit of nearly £50 million in 2025, marking a staggering 46 per cent jump compared to the figures recorded just a year earlier. Furthermore, annual sales surged dramatically, climbing from £72.2 million to £84 million.

BECKHAM: The reviews at a glance

When David’s groundbreaking documentary first premiered, critics offered a wide array of perspectives on the unprecedented level of access provided by the sports star.

The Guardian praised the project, describing it as "a surprisingly candid look at the life and career of one of the most famous footballers of all time, and it certainly is a rollicking ride."

The Telegraph focused on the emotional core of the series, noting that "the scenes in which Beckham and Alex Ferguson are intercut, talking about how Ferguson turned on, and cast out, the boy who he’d raised like a son, are simply heartbreaking."

Meanwhile, The Times offered a more skeptical critical view, writing: "You might have expected Netflix’s four-hour documentary about David Beckham to be a doting hagiography that would offer a few tasty morsels but would mostly polish the shiny tiara of Brand Beckham. And you would be right."

The Independent observed that "the couple sound like they were totally obsessed by one another from the start, and still come across as very content today. But they only let us in so far."

Finally, The i remarked that the project "fails to explore its subject’s psyche in any meaningful way."

Despite the overwhelming professional triumphs and record-breaking financial figures, the family has simultaneously navigated complex personal challenges, particularly regarding their relationship with their eldest son, Brooklyn. The 27-year-old has remained estranged from his family for nearly two years, having released a scathing six-page public statement in January denouncing his parents, characterizing family gatherings as purely "performative," and explicitly declaring that he was no longer associated with "Brand Beckham."

In the midst of this ongoing family rift, David has continued to quietly extend olive branches to his son. Ahead of Victoria’s high-profile fashion show in Paris, David made a subtle yet telling gesture on social media. Eagle-eyed observers noticed that David "liked" an Instagram post shared by photographer Yehiel Chekroune, which featured Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, attending the MESSIKA show in the French capital. The clip showed 31-year-old Nicola praising the designers while sitting front-row at the glamorous catwalk event, alongside several photographs capturing the couple enjoying the evening.

The digital interaction sparked an immediate wave of optimism among loyal fans of the family, with many taking to social media to comment on the quiet gesture. One supporter wrote, "David liked this. He loves his kids. Everything’s going to be okay."

Because Brooklyn and Nicola were in Paris for Fashion Week at the exact same time as Victoria’s showcase, royal and celebrity watchers alike held out brief hopes that a face-to-face reconciliation might take place behind the scenes, though public confirmation of any direct meeting has yet to emerge as the family continues to balance intense global scrutiny with their ongoing personal dynamics.
